CATFISH FARMERS OF AMERICA is a non-profit trade association that was formed in 1968 and is the United States strongest aquaculture organization. CFA is an association of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish producers, suppliers, processors, and marketers. The purpose is to develop, stimulate, and encourage harmony, goodwill and understanding among catfish farmers and to promote the general welfare of the U.S. catfish industry.

Services

As a member of Catfish Farmers of America, you will be affliated with a unique group of individuals, farmers, businessmen, and educators dedicated to the profitable growth of the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish industry. A membership to Catfish Farmers of America will Include:

  • Monthly subscription to The Catfish Journal, the official trade publication of CFA, which contains a variety of current information related to the industry.
  • A monthly processing activity report.
  • Accurate and informative periodic updates on key industry issues.
  • Published research abstracts.

Objectives

  • To determine research needs and set priorities.
  • To become aware of all sources of federal and state monies that may be used to the benefit of the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish industry.
  • To establish a relationship with other organizations that when joined through common cause with CFA, will enhance the favorable outcome of mutual objectives.
  • To recognize and indentify problems affecting the U.S. catfish industry, and to develop and implement plans for their solution.
